Watch TEApublican Tom Coburn: Obama ‘Getting Perilously Close’ to Impeachment

Because they won’t stop talking about it — if only to tell their sorrow-stricken constituents that they just don’t (aw, shucks!) have the votes yet to support impeachment. That is a fancy way of saying “not enough politicians are stupid enough to commit career suicide shutting down a health care law that survived Constitutional scrutiny by the Supreme Court.”

You can put Senator Tom Coburn on the list of simpletons who think impeachment is really on the table. Or rather, you can put Senator Coburn on the list of politicians who know just what kind of scrumptious red meat it is to throw at his constituents whenever he even uses the word “impeachment.” Coburn, while speaking to a town hall meeting back in his home state of Oklahoma, said that President Obama is getting “perilously close” to meeting the “high-crimes and misdemeanors” standard the Constitution sets for impeachment charges.

Coburn went on to say, “I think there’s some intended violation of the law in this administration, but I also think there’s a ton of incompetence of people who are making decisions.” We’re not sure which of the phony scandals Coburn thinks cuts the mustard though. The IRS story has been one continual debunked right-wing narrative after another. Remember when they were all up-in-arms over Doug Shulman visiting the White House a supposed 157 times? Debunked. It’s becoming more and more apparent the CIA had their hands in Benghazi in some way, shape or form and that’s why the much-discussed talking points were changed. There is no narrative that makes sense outside of Tea Party Town that leads to impeachment, but the more you hear Republicans talking about it, the better it is for the country who will have no choice but to hoist the worst offenders out onto the streets come 2014.
