Doug Sedenquist, Michigan Republican Party Central Committee Member, Reportedly Jailed Again

doug sedenquistA member of the Republican State Central Committee in Michigan reportedly missed a Tuesday court appearance in Green Bay, Wis., where he is facing criminal charges -- because he was already in custody.
The Detroit Free Press reports that Doug Sedenquist, 51, of Escanaba, Mich., faces charges of "extortion, using a computer to commit a crime, aggravated stalking, and possession of a drug chemically similar to a controlled substance" in Michigan's Delta County, where he spend the weekend in jail.
His earlier charges stem from a March incident in Green Bay with his estranged wife. She reportedly called police to report that Sedenquist allegedly told her he was in town and had a gun trained on himself. Authorities confronted Sedenquist in his truck in a parking lot, where he surrendered after half an hour.
He was charged with two misdemeanors and the felony offense of failing to comply with an officer's attempt to take him into custody.
Sedenquist, a Tea Party activist who co-hosts a conservative radio show, was vice-chair of the Delta County GOP when the March incident was reported on in August. He no longer holds that position, but still holds a post in the Michigan state party, the Free Press reported.
His wife reportedly claimed they separated last year because he attacked their teenage daughters.
