You know how conservative “Christians” constantly act like they’re better and more superior than everyone else? Well, according to Pope Francis, real Christians aren’t supposed to act that way.

Pope Francis says Christians who act superior to others aren’t real Christians

Last Wednesday, Pope Francis once again took aim at the Christian Right. The pontiff told his audience in St. Peter’s Square that Christians are supposed to be humble rather than look down upon others as inferior. Christians who act superior to everyone else aren’t true Christians. The holy father made the comments as part of his explanation of the meaning of the Christmas story.
“In Christmas, God reveals himself not as one who stands above and who dominates the universe, but as He who lowers himself. It means that to be like Him, we do not have to place ourselves above the others, but come down, come down and serve them, become small among the small, and poor among the poor.”

It sounds like Pope Francis is talking to conservatives

In short, Pope Francis says Christians need to stop acting as if they are superior to others. You know, like conservative “Christians” do on a daily basis here in America. For years, conservative Christianity has been steeped in hatred of others. Conservatives hate the poor and have sought an agenda designed to punish them. Furthermore, conservatives hold sexism and racism in high regard. To them, only religious right-wing white males should have a say in the world. That’s why conservatives have pursued policies that scale back civil rights for women and people of color. Because to them, women should be subservient to men and people of color belong back on plantations or should be deported.
Conservatives have also declared war on other belief systems. Hatred of Muslims and atheists run rampant in right-wing circles. This is especially true around the holiday season, when conservatives across the country try to convince everyone that there is a so-called war on Christmas. The fact is, no one is waging such a war. In reality, conservatives are using a fake war on Christmas to attack other faiths. Again, conservatives have a superiority complex.
But Pope Francis says acting in such a way disqualifies a person from daring to call themselves a Christian.
“It is an ugly thing when one sees a Christian who does not want to lower himself, who does not want to serve, a Christian who parades around everywhere. It’s terrible, no? That person isn’t a Christian.”
Here’s the video.

Pope Francis has called out conservative Christians multiple time since becoming pontiff

This isn’t the first time that Pope Francis has taken a shot at the religious right-wing. In October, he denounced http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/10/21/pope-francis-right-wing-christians/ ideologically obsessed Christians, especially those who focus on hating gay people and trying to ban a woman’s right to choose an abortion. The pontiff said these Christians have an “illness.”
In addition, Pope Francis has also attacked the entire economic world view that conservatives hold so dear. Earlier this month, he referred to trickle-down economics as a “tyranny.” And since becoming the pontiff in March, Pope Francis has made multiple statements slamming conservative ideology. And the right-wing hates him for it.

Conservatives should listen to Pope Francis instead of hating him

These latest remarks from Pope Francis remind us all once again that this pontiff is changing the Catholic Church for the better. Instead of twisting the words of Jesus to suit an agenda, Pope Francis is using the true teachings of Jesus to educate conservatives on how to be real Christians. Perhaps they should open their ears and eyes and give it a try. In other words, stop hurting the poor, stop being sexist toward women, stop being racist, and stop denigrating other religious views. And most of all, stop hating.
