Visitors are pouring into Healthcare.gov so John Boehner peddles false Obamacare ‘horror story’
John Boehner is upset over another Obamcare ‘horror’ story. It’s pure horror. It’s horribly horrible. It’s also pure fiction. To explain why Republicans are holding oversight hearings on Obamacare this week instead of doing their jobs, the House Speaker linked to a story which is completely false.Sunday morning, the New York Post (R-Murdoch) published a story about Cornelius Kelly, who was distraught to learn that the New York State health insurance plans could cover his wife and three older children, but that he would have to buy a separate plan for his 18-month-old daughter.
Not the children!
On Monday Fox News ran with the story and Kelly appeared on the network’s show to retell the horror of it all. Within hours, the story spread like wildfire.
Capital New York reports, “The problem is, Kelly appears to have been given some bad information. Family plans in New York cover the whole family. No baby has to wait until its second birthday to join a family plan, as the article described Kelly being told.”
“It was 100 percent false,” said Bill Schwarz, a spokesman for the state’s Department of Health. “Of course, everyone is covered in the family policy.”
Boehner is promoting the hashtag: #Trainwreck. The problem is that this ‘horror story’ has a wonderful ending.
Hey John, lookie!:
