O’SNAP! Republicans Caught Taking Food Stamps

O’SNAP! Republicans Caught Taking Food Stamps (List)

Lipstick Liberal

Legislation passed by the GOP-controlled House would cut Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by an additional $5 billion annually and tighten eligibility requirements. A program that for every $5 of food stamps generates up to $9 in economic activity.
1. Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-Tenn.) collected nearly $3.5 million in taxpayer-financed farm subsidies from 1999 to 2012, including roughly $70,000 just last year in the form of direct payments from Washington, paid for by you and me.
2. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.) received more than $5 million in commodity subsidies since 1995, according to the group’s analysis of data from the U.S. Agriculture Department.
3. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.Minn) received $250,000 in Federal Farm Subsidies.
4 – 29.  Thirty-Three other Members of Congress received $15 Million Dollars from farm subsidies yet voted to cut food stamps
30. Wal-Mart Supercenter employing 300 workers cost taxpayers at least $904,000 annually, with profits over $446 billion dollars annually.
*BONUS* Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), fights to keep moochers from not paying their fair share, while allowing the super-rich to hide between $21 and $32 trillion in offshore jurisdictions around the world .

Top 10 Findings Of House Committee Investigating Healthcare.gov Glitches

Top 10 Findings Of House Committee Investigating Healthcare.gov Glitches

 Tea Party Cat

http://winkprogress.com/images/2013/10/House-hearings-on-healthcare-gov-glitches.pngChairman of the House Oversight Committee Darrell Issa called hearings into the glitches on the Obamacare site, healthcare.gov, and what he found is shocking. SHOCKING!
10. Obamacare is the worst thing to ever happen to America, and the GOP were totally NOT dicks for shutting down the government and threatening to destroy the world economy to stop it.
9. Website glitches are at least as bad as anything George W. Bush ever did, including invading Iraq for no reason and leaving people to die after Hurricane Katrina.
8. President Obama was born in a place called Hawaii, which sounds foreign, raising questions about whether he is fit to serve as president.
7. Some congressmen know how to use the View Page Source option in their browsers.
5. President Obama “doesn’t look presidential, if you know what I mean”.
4. President Obama went golfing in the past two years when he could have been personally fixing the code on healthcare.gov.
3. Healthcare.gov is on the Inter-net, which is a series of tubes that is available on computers now.
2. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius put a virus in the code on healthcare.gov that will force every God-fearing Christian woman to have an abortion, even if they aren’t pregnant.
1. Despite how high-tech his campaign was, President Obama hasn’t even debugged ONE LINE OF CODE on the website.
And that’s it for now, but never fear– Darrell Issa knows that if he keeps holding hearings, the full story of Obama’s diabolical plans to subvert the freedom of patriotic Americans will be revealed, and in the meantime there will be plenty of time for grandstanding. And if things get slow, Chairman Issa can always get on the internet and start arguing with satirical cats. http://winkprogress.com/teapartycat/4391/top-10-findings-of-house-committee-investigating-healthcare-gov-glitches/

 @LiberalBias

Ted Cruz lists 100 failings of bipartisan compromiseThe following is a partial transcript of Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) floor speech on the bipartisan deal to avert default and re-open the government on Oct. 16, 2013:
Unfortunately, once again it appears the Washington establishment is refusing to listen to the American people.
The deal that has been cut provides no relief to the millions of Americans who are hurting.
The deal that has been cut provides no relief to all the young people coming out of school.
It provides no relief to all the single parents who have been forced into part-time work.
It provides no relief to all the hardworking families who are facing skyrocketing health insurance premiums.
It provides no relief to all the seniors, to all the people with disabilities, who are right now getting in the mail notifications from their health insurance that they’re losing their health insurance.
Seemingly in a trance, he continued:
It provides no relief to all of the homeless people who can’t find a jobs.
It provides no relief for people who have pre-existing conditions.
It provides no relief for people who are just totally tired of being sick all the time.
It provides no relief for people who are scared to go to the dentist.
It provides no relief to hunters who feel bullied by the anti-gun lobby.
It provides no relief to all of business executives who were caught recently at strip clubs by their wives.
It provides no relieve to all of the students, hard-working students, who got B- or worse on their mid-terms.
It provides no relief for people who are dissatisfied with the way that Breaking Bad ended.
It provides no relief for my interns, who keep getting food thrown at them in the cafeteria.
It provides no relief for John Boehner’s ego, which isn’t something that I actually care that much about.
It provides no relief for Christians who get upset whenever people wish them a “happy holiday”.
It provides no relief for over-weight pets, who really aren’t to blame for their obesity, now are they?
It provides no relief for people who do not like green eggs and ham.
It provides no relief for people who will not eat it in a box.
It provides no relief for people who will not eat it with a fox….
He continued in this vein until Eric Cantor tapped him gently on the shoulder, and sadly shook his head side-to-side. Although startled at first, Cruz regained his composure and continued on with his prepared speech.

BREAKING: Obama Dissolves House Of Representatives

BREAKING: Obama Dissolves House Of Representatives

 Tea Party Cat

Obama dissolves House of Representatives In a move that shocked the Capitol, President Obama dissolved the House of Representatives this morning. At the press conference announcing the move, Obama read from a prepared statement:
“I think it’s obvious to everyone that the House has been broken for some time. But after the House couldn’t pass their own bill to reopen government and raise the debt ceiling– even with all their ridiculous demands– it was clear the House was beyond repair.
“The Constitution set up the House to be the branch of government most responsive to the will of the people. With shorter terms and smaller districts, members were to represent the wishes of the people, and yet as poll after poll shows, the House is incapable of taking any action desired by the people. Whether immigration reform, gun control, defunding Obamacare, or any of the fiscal crises, the House has been on the wrong side.
“And so I have decided that everyone will be better off eliminating the part of government which recent polls show is even less popular than herpes or testicular cancer. We still have a democracy in this country, but it will just be through the Senate and Presidency now, as well as all the state and local governments.
“Thank you, and God bless America.”
When reached for comment, former Speaker John Boehner told reporters “To be honest, I’m relieved. That job had become a real drag, and I look forward to not having my every move second-guessed by everyone, most of all by that little weasel, Eric Cantor.”

Remember the brilliant analytical strategy that the GOP used in the last Presidential election to explain why every single poll was wrong and Mitt Romney would win in an historic landslide?
That worked out well. And since it worked out so well, Ted Cruz is dusting off exactly the same strategy to explain the latest “biased” poll results in the aftermath of the government shutdown…

Paul Ryan: “Crisis can be ended by full government takeover of female reproductive organs”

The Daily Edge

Paul Ryan, United States Representative for Wisconsin’s First District, today unveiled a new GOP plan to “end the government shutdown, extend the debt limit and avert a global economic crisis such as the world has never seen.”

TDE_PaulRyan_Uterus_101312“Some of my more radical colleagues are insisting that we defund and repeal Obamacare,” said Ryan. “Not me. As the intellectual leader of the Republican Party, I recognize that we have fought two elections over healthcare reform, that the Affordable Care Act has been ruled Constitutional by the Supreme Court, and that Ted Cruz has been hogging the limelight lately. That’s why my plan not only reflects the new reality of a Big Government takeover of healthcare, it extends the reach of Big Government to completely regulate the female reproductive system. Under my plan, anything that scientists call ‘ladyparts’ will be deemed government property at the age of nine, all sex education and birth control will be banned and all pregnancies will be deemed to be acts of God, even those that occur as the result of incest or by either kind of rape, pretend or legitimate.”
Ryan also called for an immediate extension of the Bush tax cuts for the rich “for eternity,” combined with additional cuts to Food Stamps and the end of Medicare. “It’s time to make the tough decisions,” he added. “We can’t police women’s bodies as vigilantly as we must while also offering healthcare to unproductive grandmas too.”
When asked how his new plan aligned with the philosophy of his spiritual leader, the pro-choice atheist Ayn Rand, Ryan had a ready answer: “As a Republican, as a Christian and as an Ayn Rand cultist, it is my duty to take the parts of any text that I like and ram them down your throat while ignoring anything Jesus said about helping the poor or anything Ayn Rand said about keeping the government the fuck away from her vagina.”
Ryan insisted that if Obama was willing to accept all his demands immediately while also agreeing to finish every sentence with the word liberty, “this crisis can still be averted.”

Putin or Gay Porn Star?

Putin or Gay Porn Star?

 in Featured
Conservatives are all applauding Vladimir Putin for being such a strong leader, and for being so very very very anti-gay. What an awesome guy. Yet there is something a little off about his anti-gayness.
If you take a close look at all of the very manly things that Putin does to prove how masculine and not-gay he is, they all look a little…. well, gay. As an objective and fair-and-balanced reporting outlet, we here at LiberalBias.com have to ask the question:

Is Vladimir Putin subconsciously copying the poses of his favorite gay porn stars?

For example, here we see Vladimir Putin riding a horse shirtless, and a gay porn star riding a horse shirtless, just for a visual comparison:
Putin or Gay Porn Star
And again:
Putin Or Gay Porn Star
And also carrying a gun:
Putin Or Gay Porn Star
And also fishing, although it should be noted that there were not any completely shirtless pictures of the gay porn star holding the fishing rod, presumably because he was smart enough to put the fishing rod down before taking off his shirt:
Putin Or Gay Porn Star
Now, there is ONE SHIRTLESS PICTURE of Putin for which we were unable to find a corresponding gay porn star picture.  And that is this picture of Putin gasping for air while doing the butterfly stroke:
Putin swimming
Of course, we were able to find plenty of pictures of gay porn stars in the water. But they never seem to actually be… well, swimming.
There are pictures of gay porn stars jumping into the water:
Gay Porn Stars Not Swimming-1
There are pictures of gay porn stars playing with balls in the water.  (Duh).
Gay Porn Star Not Swimming
And there are even pictures of gay porn stars playing with a cute puppy in the water:
Gay Porn Stars Not Swimming
But somehow, there are no pictures of gay porn stars gasping for air while doing a serious butterfly stroke, to match Putin’s infamous swimming picture.

So maybe that is why we can all sleep safely at night, and feel completely assured that Vladimir Putin, conservative hero, is not secretly mimicking the poses of all of his favorite gay porn stars, after all.
Whew.

FACT CHECK: Rep. Markwayne Mullin, “McDonalds hamburgers will cost $20!

ThinkProgress reports:
When a constituent asked Rep. Markwayne Mullin for his take on the push to raise the minimum wage to $10 an hour at an Afton, Oklahoma town hall meeting last Thursday, Mullin responded with a question of his own: “You guys wanna pay $20 for a hamburger at McDonald’s?” [more here]

Claim

Rep. Markwayne Mullin says that raising the minimum wage to $10 will make McDonald’s hamburgers cost $20.

Fact Check

With the current minimum wage of $7.25, McDonalds charges an average of $4.56 for a Big Mac. Raising the minimum wage to $10 would be a 38% increase. Using math, a 38% increase in the price of the burger would be $6.29.

Verdict

FACT CHECK Markwayne Mullin 20 dollar Big MacsSo while Rep. Markwayne Mullin was off by $13.71 in his estimate, we rate his statement as Close Enough, because really $13.71 isn’t that much money when you consider that someone making minimum wage can make that in a little over 2 hours.

GOP on Obamacare: “We hates it! We hates it, preciousssssssss!”

The House Republicans have emitted another grunt of inarticulate rage about Obamacare.
They call it “repealing” Obamacare, but since any measures to repeal Obamacare will never pass the Senate and would certainly be vetoed in the White House, all the vote really amounts to is the Republicans saying: “We hates it! We HATES it so much!”

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican-led House voted on Wednesday to delay core provisions of President Barack Obama's health care law, emboldened by the administration's concession that requiring companies to provide coverage for their workers next year may be too complicated.
After a day of heated rhetoric, the House voted largely along party lines, 264-161, to delay by one year the so-called employer mandate of the Affordable Care Act. It voted 251-174 to extend a similar grace period to virtually all Americans who will be required to obtain coverage beginning Jan. 1, the linchpin of the law.
The dual political-show votes marked the 38th time the GOP majority has tried to eliminate, defund or scale back the unpopular law since Republicans took control of the House in January 2011. The House legislation stands no chance in the Democratic-run Senate.
The goal of the health care law is to provide coverage to nearly 50 million Americans without health insurance and lower skyrocketing costs. But in the three years since Obama signed his signature law, the public remains highly skeptical and the administration's abrupt decision earlier this month to delay the employer provision only fueled more doubts.
Republican foes welcomed the deferment as a political gift, not only to assail Obama but to arrange votes that put House Democrats on record ahead of next year's congressional elections. In fact, on the employer mandate, 35 Democrats broke with party leaders and joined Republicans in backing the delay. Twenty-two Democrats supported a postponement of the health care requirement for individuals.
"This administration cannot make its own law work," said Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, during House debate.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., said the decision was "a clear signal that even the administration doesn't believe the country is ready to sustain the painful economic impact this law will have."

Scientists claim new species “olinguito”; House Science Committee member Paul Broun says “No way.”

Scientists announced a new species, the “olinguito”, a small mammal which will no doubt be oohed at on morning talk shows for weeks to come.
But House Science Committee member Paul Broun (R-GA) isn’t buying it. “The whole thing is a big crock. I looked through my Bible and couldn’t find mention of this creature anywhere. And they claim what, that it’s from Ecuador? Where the hell is that? I’ve never heard of Ecuador, have you? Nope, I’m not buying it. I remind you that these same ‘scientists’ have also claimed a bunch of other non-biblical crap like global warming, evolution, that the Earth is round and billions of years old instead of just 6000 years. I mean, what kind of idiots do they take us for?”
Neither science nor the olinguito would comment on Rep. Broun’s accusations, which he took as tacit admission of guilt. “It’s like I’ve always said, science is just a pack of lies from the pit of Hell.” Though Rep. Broun did concede that “whatever that thing is, it sure is cute.”

It’s just too much for the Tea Party to take. So this afternoon rallies were held around the country to “take back OUR Miss America”. Here’s a photo from one:

There’s even a list of demands for Congress.

Top 10 American values Miss America must have, as set out in the Constitution:
  1. Not look like a terrorist
  2. Not so “college-y”
  3. Not be a secret Muslim
  4. Hit a target at 100 yards with an AR-15
  5. Be from Real America, i.e., a Red State
  6. Not say things like “i.e.”
  7. Be Christian
  8. Be the “right kind of Christian”
  9. Pose in her bikini with all her guns for Guns & Ammo
  10. Be as blonde as the women of Fox News
Meanwhile on the legislative front, the Texas state house will vote on a bill to “secede from the Miss America pageant” if these demands are not met.

Last week, the House approved a plan to shut down the government unless Obamacare gets defunded. The bill had bipartisan support according to Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
http://winkprogress.com/images/2013/09/bipartisan-support.jpgRadical left-wing communist and sinner Rachel Maddow scoffed at the claims of bipartisan support, and presented a very liberally biased graph that showed the so-called “numbers” of people who voted for and against this bill.
We, however, know that “numbers” and “graphs” can be very misleading and lead to all kinds of liberal bias. In the grand tradition of the GOP, we have unskewed Maddow’s graph to present the same data, but in a way that highlights the truth that conservatives want you to believe:

See? Totally bipartisan.

Of course, whether “bipartisan support” is a GOOD thing or not may be a matter of debate, as pointed out by TeaPartyCat here: The REAL Problem with the Defund Obamacare Or Shutdown The Government Bill.

Unemployment is high because of the chicks!!!!!

 Liberal Bias

Why the poor don't work. It's the chicks' faultAccording to an interesting analysis by The Atlantic, the real source of unemployment is the ladies.
That’s right, the ladies. The chicks, the dames, the skirts, the lassies. Once society started thinking they actually should work, unemployment went through the roof! Mainly because that meant they were considered part of the labor force.
Look at the above graph. The obvious and simple solution to unemployment is to get a good, conservative president in office who will once and for all declare: the babes need to stay home.
That will remove nearly 8,000 people from the supposedly “unemployed” category immediately!

Of course, the liberally biased media didn’t blame Obama.
But we do. Obama’s liberal liberalism with extra liberal nuggets is part of the socially endemic problem that lead women to being able to “work” in the first place.
I mean, just look at the graph! The problem is obviously the chicks.
The birds.
You know: the bitties.

Obama recovery going so well, shutdown the only answer, says GOP

 The Daily Edge
With leading economists forecasting an acceleration of the US economy heading into the 2014 midterms, Republicans are publicly admitting that their four-and-a-half-year effort to fuck America’s middle class in every orifice has failed.
“Obama is just too good for us,” said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, an attendee at the secret GOP dinner on Inauguration Night in 2009 at which 15 leading Republicans plotted to make sure America’s middle-class would be well-and-truly screwed by the Bush crash for generations to come. “You have to remember, America was in crisis,” added Cantor. “We really wanted to kick the country when it was down, and blame Obama.”
Paul Ryan, one of the patriots who attended that dinner, admitted: “Things are going so well right now that a complete government shutdown is the only option. It’s getting harder than ever to convince people we must kill Medicare and Social Security. In all these years, Obama hasn’t allowed me to throw a single grandma off a cliff, for Chrissakes.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, facing a tough Democratic challenger in 2014, was despondent: “The Federal Reserve says the economy is accelerating. In 2014, it will grow as fast as 3-3.8%. We cannot allow that to happen. It would be a travesty if all the filibustering I’ve been doing was allowed to go to waste.
Senator John McCain declined to speak on economic issues, but expressed regret that Syria had agreed to give up its WMDs without a shot being fired. “I was hoping for a least one more pointless, ill-planned overseas war,” he said. “I didn’t even care where, as long as a lot of expensive missiles could be dropped. Because of Obama, I haven’t even been able to use the word ‘quagmire’ since 2008.”
House Speaker John Boehner reeled off a spate of impressive economic statistics: “Obama has delivered 42 straight months of private sector job growth, delivering 7 and a half million jobs. Manufacturing has added 500,00 jobs under Obama. We tried to kill the US auto industry, but Obama saved it and it’s doing way better than anyone predicted.  Stocks are up 100%. People’s 401(k)s are higher than before the crash. The housing market is rebounding. Consumer confidence is soaring. If we don’t give the economy a huge kick in the balls right now, even Fox News might have to start giving Obama a little credit.”
Boehner then burst into tears, although experts said that wasn’t unusual.

HOUSE REPUBLICANS STILL DETERMINED TO KILL YOU

HOUSE REPUBLICANS STILL DETERMINED TO KILL YOU

House Republicans today reiterated their commitment to killing as many Americans as possible before the end of Obama’s second term. ”We don’t care if you starve or die slowly and painfully from a chronic-but-treatable disease,” said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. “As long as you die, it makes no difference.”
After Thursday’s vote to cut $40 billion from the Food Stamps program, failed VP candidate Paul Ryan was positively gleeful. “Seniors, the disabled and families struggling to feed their kids will all suffer as the result of this vote,”  he said. “But as long as you tell your hungry kid the alternative was to end Big Oil subsidies, she’ll understand.”
Teach-Girls-End-World-Poverty
Child health experts warned that failing to properly feed America’s children could affect brain development, lead to problems at school, and all kinds of expensive medical problems later. “That’ll teach poor people to have so many kids, won’t it?” said Ryan before adding: “Unless you got pregnant by rape, of course. Then it was God’s will.”
The House GOP followed up Friday by voting to shut down the government unless Obamacare is completely defunded. “Healthcare is not a human right,” said Speaker John Boehner. “I don’t care what Jesus or the Pope say about it. When was the last time Jesus sent me a check, for God’s sake?”
In Texas, Governor Rick Perry applauded the effort to defund Obamacare: “As a Christian, I’ve always believed the best way to treat poor people who get sick is miracles,” he said. “America is the richest country in the world. There’s just no excuse for being born poor.”
Ted Cruz continued to warn of the risks of Obamacare: “People will become addicted,” he said. “Study after study is showing that affordable healthcare will transform the lives of millions of Americans, including preventive services, vision and dental care for kids, and guaranteed coverage for pre-existing conditions. This isn’t Canada. We should never allow poor people to save so much money on healthcare that they can then afford to buy food too.”
New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte also pointed out that if starvation or illness don’t kill you first, gun violence is still an option. “That’s why I voted against expanded background checks after the Sandy Hook massacre,” she said. “After all, guns don’t kill people. Republicans kill people.”

GOD IS JUST AS SCIENTIFIC AS THAT OTHER SCIENCEY JUNK, ACCORDING TO DEMOCRACY

GOD IS JUST AS SCIENTIFIC AS THAT OTHER SCIENCEY JUNK, ACCORDING TO DEMOCRACY

Liberal Bias

Well, it’s that time of year again: the time of year for average patriotic Texans to pressure schools to teach creationism as science.
This fight happens every year, and luckily in Texas we seem to make a little more progress every time the question comes up. And by “progress”, I naturally mean that science textbooks have less and less science, and more and more God.
This is the way it should be, because in the great country of Texas, people believe in God. And they believe in Democracy. And in a Democracy, people get to vote on what to believe. And if people vote that God is just as sciencey as genes and monkeys and all that other crap, then that means it must be true.
There has been a lot of chatter on the radio here in Texas, with people talking about the fact that actual educators, scientists, and other people with fancy book-learning actually do not want any more God in science textbooks. Instead, only the regular, non-educated common folk “activists” want it.
Well to that I say: who cares? In a democracy, we get to vote on what to believe; and in Texas, there are more of us regular non-educated folks than those sciencey, nerdy folks.
Just to drive the point home, here is a graph to illustrate:
